A Social Gal's Top 5: Blogging Tools

I’m back with A Social Gal’s Top 5: Blogging Tools that I hope you will find helpful! This week, our topic is blog tools! Whether you are a seasoned blogger, a newbie, or somewhere in between like me, these tools are ones that you may find to be very helpful on your journey!

*Disclaimer: The following resources may contain an affiliate link meaning that I get a small commission if you sign up/click through at no extra cost to you. You can also read my disclaimer policy here.

1. Grammarly

Ya’ll Grammarly has changed the game for me! I included it in my blogging resources page and dedicated an entire post to it because that’s just how awesome Grammarly is!

You can read way more about it in the post but the short of it is, Grammarly checks your writing for all kinds of errors. From misspellings to incorrect punctuation and clarity issues, Grammarly makes you and me better writers. Grammarly literally has our backs to make sure that the content we are putting out there is accurate in all things grammar (hence the name). It also tells you your tone as well as offers a premium package that gives you even more features! Oh and did I mention, the basic version is FREE!

FREE, that’s right! If you are not taking advantage of their services, you are missing out tremendously. Don’t worry, I was too but now I am a believer!

*I’ve added my affiliate links here in case you want to give it a try! Yes, I joined their affiliate program because I love it so much!

2. Pinterest

The reason Pinterest is a great tool for bloggers specifically is because of the ability to utilize it for promoting your posts. Pinterest is one of the largest search engines with much of their pins being visually based. It is an excellent way for bloggers to share direct links to their posts in a visually appealing and easy way.

Many bloggers, myself included, get much of their blog views via Pinterest. I had been a Pinterest fan before starting this blog and am even a bigger fan after seeing the benefit of having a strong Pinterest strategy as a blogger.

Speaking of Pinterest, if you have an account, let’s connect. You can follow me here!

3. Tailwind for Pinterest

I cannot possibly mention Pinterest as one of A Social Gal’s Top 5: Blogging Tools without mentioning Tailwind. Tailwind is a Pinterest pin scheduler that allows you to schedule out your pins across all of your boards, tribes and even put together a rotating loop of your best pins.

It will easily pin your blog posts out to your boards allowing your blog to attract traffic while you sleep. If you plan to utilize a strong blog promotional strategy on Pinterest then Tailwind will become your new best friend.

4. Canva

Canva is a life-saver when it comes to stock photos and for creating graphics. Sure, there are other graphic design apps out there however, Canva is one that is going to offer you the most ability to create almost anything you want or need.

On average, Canva saves me hours and hours every single week. It does this by making it really easy to create pins for Pinterest. Additionally, it’s perfect for creating graphics for IG and finding stock photos for blog posts. If you are a blogger or content creator and not using a design app like Canva, you are making life too hard! Heck, I even created my own logo on the app!

Canva is greatly worth the less than $10 a month investment and you are bound to get way more than that out of it.

5. Plugins

Plugins may seem like a silly tool to add in A Social Gal’s Top 5: Blogging Tools, but it is an important one. Of course, the plugins you decide to use are up to you and depend on your own needs. However, I will share just a few of my must-haves below.

  • Yoast SEO
  • GDPR Cookie Consent
  • Google Analytics for WordPress
  • Jetpack
  • jQuery Pin It Button for Images
  • SG Optimizer

Plugins are a great way to add enhancements to your blog as well as protect and back it up. I highly recommend you take some time to read about the plugins best suited for your blog’s needs. There is literally a plugin for everything these days and they can increase your productivity immensely.

Tools

There are tons of blogging tools out there to choose from in every category under the sun. Hopefully A Social Gal’s Top 5: Blogging Tools gave you a few solid ideas for tools to look into as you start or continue your own blogging adventure.

As always, if you have any tools you would like to add, feel free to drop a comment below. Be sure to join our community to get this content via email and check back weekly for a new Top 5 list!
