The 2019, Hampton Roads’ Finest Brewer’s Ball took place on October 25 at Harbor Park. It was one heck of a fun night raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
This year marked my 4th consecutive year attending the event and honestly, it just keeps getting better and better! Featuring the areas best restaurants and breweries, set to an amazing backdrop, raising money for a great cause and more makes it no wonder that it’s such a popular fundraiser for Hampton Roads!

Event Details: Food and Drinks
As I mentioned, the Brewer’s Ball showcases local restaurants that bring their favorite dishes to serve hungry guests. Over the years, there has been everything from Italian to seafood, wings and pizza, BBQ, cookies and new this year, s’mores! I always plan to go hungry because I know I will leave stuffed from the many delicious tastings.
As for drinks, you can assume that an event entitled, “Brewer’s Ball” will have no shortage of delicious beverages on hand. This assumption is completely accurate. The event features many of the best local breweries serving up Hampton Roads’ favorite beers. Curious who was there? Check out the list here.
Don’t worry non-beer drinkers like myself, the Brewer’s Ball has you covered too! This year, Tarnished Truth did a fabulous tasting of their fine spirits. Bold Rock brought their new seltzer in two brand new flavors. And wine drinkers got their fix from The Hampton Roads Winery.
Each year is a little different but you can guarantee it will feature many great drinks and tons of food options. Plus, the entire event is for an amazing cause, helping raise funds so that hopefully some day soon, CF will stand for Cure Found!
Event Details: Program
There’s many highlights of the Brewer’s Ball outside of the fabulous food and drinks. The program of the event is spot on and really hits home the reason we are all in attendance.
Featuring a speaker sharing their life and experiences with CF, the program truly aims to spotlight why fundraisers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are so impactful! Additionally, Bid for a Cure, a live and silent auction follow suit and are quite popular with attendees. Every year, I am impressed by the amazing prizes that both the live and silent auctions have. This year was no different. From the opportunity to purchase an epic golf experience to a vacation in Cape Cod, the live auction is exciting, fast paced and raises a great deal of money for the cause!
I couldn’t write up my review of Brewer’s Ball without talking about the entire idea and reason behind the event, the honorees. Each year, 10-15 honorees are chosen as Hampton Roads’ Finest. These individuals commit to raising money and awareness for the CFF while they spend time learning about all the work the foundation does. The Brewer’s Ball itself is the final celebration of these honorees as we applaud their excellent fundraising contributions! A large part of the program the night of the event is celebrating these folks for their many months of hard work and dedication to raising funds for a cure! This year’s group of honorees was spectacular and I cannot wait to see the final fundraising totals come the end of the 2019 fiscal year!
So if it sounds like I have some inside scoop about the event, that’s because I do! My very first year being involved, I was very excited to be an honoree! After that, I became involved from a committee and young professional’s board perspective. Now, here I am a few years later still so happy to support!
Overall, my review goes like this, we had a fantastic time at the 2019 Brewer’s Ball! The event is truly unlike others in the area! There’s not many events that can boast having that many great restaurants and breweries/wineries/distilleries under one roof but the Brewer’s Ball sure can! Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2020 date!
